Tonia Khouri Criticizes Repulsive Mailer Sent by Karina Villa
Democratic candidates supported by Mike Madigan, including Karina Villa, have been attempting to discredit opponents with mailers full of slanderous lies.
After seeing a particularly slanderous mailer sent out by the Villa campaign, Tonia Khouri created a video response to speak directly with voters.
These controversial mailers have received coverage in the media, including Tonia’s response, which was reported on by DuPage Policy Journal.

Khouri slams ‘repulsive mailer,’ calls on Villa to discuss relevant issues
Tonia Khouri, a Republican state House candidate in District 49, called out her Democrat opponent, Karina Villa, for allegedly spreading false statements against her.
In an Oct. 20 Facebook video, Khouri held up a copy of a flyer sent by Democrats, bearing the headline “Tonia Khouri shady allies supported an accused child molester.”
Khouri said that particular mailer was the worst one Democrats had sent so far.
“As the mother of a young woman, these falsehoods being connected to my name disgust me,” Khouri said. “And for Karina Villa and the Democratic Party to go so low just emphasizes the fact that they are trying to avoid the real issues.”
Calling the accusations “salacious, slanderous lies,” Khouri said more substantive issues, like pensions, property taxes and a balanced budget, should be the campaign’s focus.
“The only thing Karina Villa wants to do, because she’s done it twice already, is raise our taxes,” Khouri said. “Well I say enough is enough. Enough of these slanderous lies, enough of the bullying and corruption in Springfield. And enough of raising our taxes.”
She challenged voters to make their voices heard at the ballot box.
“Are you going to let them distract you with these falsehoods and lies?” she asked. “Or are you going to stay focused with me and fix the problems in this state?”
Khouri goes up against incumbent Democrat Karina Villa on Nov. 6. The 49th district covers Aurora, Batavia, Elgin, Geneva, Naperville, St. Charles, Warrenville and West Chicago.
